JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client has been supplying specialist concrete and molds to clients all across Australia since 1996. The skilled pattern makers there can fabricate patterns from supplied engineering drawings, original casting, or even a sketch. If you believe that you can cast it, we are equally confident that our highly skilled team of pattern makers can provide the patterns and molds that you need to bring it into reality.

Their services include:
> Patterns manufactured from timber, fibreglass, or aluminium
> Rotational moulding and tooling
> Moulds for concrete products
> Vacuum forming

Based at their Luscombe site, they are currently seeking to recruit an apprentice Patternmaker to join their team. In this position you will assist with specialist measuring equipment and a range of hand tools and work from detailed drawings. Full training will be provided to the successful applicant.
Apprentices involved in this type of work would work in an enclosed well-equipped workshop, use specialised measuring equipment and a range of wood working hand tools, work from detailed drawing and be expected to use the following equipment: 
> Bench mounted saws
> Routing machines
> Band saws, and
> Wood lathes

A Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade MEM30305 will involve:
Working closely with the foundry industry. They make design moulds for cast metal and work on the manufacture, replacement and repairs of patterns. Traditionally, patterns are made from wood, but increasingly other materials such as composites and polystyrene are used.

About you:
> A passion for Engineering and an enthusiastic work ethic.
> Ability to learn how to read plans and have an interest in wood, carpentry including engineering concepts.
> Have patience and willingness for long term career development.
> Be competent with Mathematics, and willing to further develop in this area.
> Commitment to a 4-year apprenticeship, while undertaking a Certificate III Engineering at TAFE.
> Strong sense of self-motivation and enthusiasm with a high work ethic and can-do attitude.
> Professional presentation.
> Honesty, reliability & punctuality.
> Current Driver’s License is preferable.
> Current forklift license is favourable.

> Must be an Australian Citizen or have right to work in this country
